Four Dances Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Program
New Day, Inc. has designed and implemented a unique experiential curriculum with clinical mental health/chemical dependency treatment. It is an outdoor adventure program that relies on traditional values to promote the development of self-concept with improved behaviors, helping adolescents integrate back into their community, home and school. This is a Level II Intensive Outpatient Chemical Dependency service offered to youth residing in our group homes. We have a team of certified teachers, licensed therapists, addiction counselors, and certified wilderness instructors who deliver unparalleled positive results.
The Four Dances Program includes:
Residential Clinical Services
These services include a Comprehensive Adolescent Assessment, Psychiatric Care and Medication Management, intensive Group and Individual Therapy, and Day Treatment Program educational services.
Experiential Therapy Services
These services include Drum Group, Spiritual Support Groups, Talking Circle, Sweat Lodge Ceremony, and Equine Therapy. Our adventure-based learning model focuses on teaching adolescents to problem solve effectively by ‘learning by doing’. Adventure treatment exercises include hiking, rappelling, archery, biking, canoeing, and a low ropes course.
The solo experience has also recently been implemented, which is a two day, one night supervised personal adventure at our Bull Mountains Whispering Pines base camp site. The solo portion of the youth’s recovery gives them the experience of relying on themselves, which helps foster a positive sense of independence, competency and confidence.
