New Day, Inc. is currently seeking talented individuals for the following positions:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs basic youth care procedures and related task-oriented activities. Assumes the responsibilities of providing youth care in a therapeutic environment for youth. Provides the safety and security of the group home and the youth while performing job duties.
 
 
MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
Perform basic youth care procedures and related task-oriented activities.
  • Assist youth with activities of daily of living and engages in 1:1 interaction.
  • Assist with admitting, discharging, and transferring of youth.
  • Provide direct youth care assigned by the Program Manager.
  • Assists activity staff with therapeutic activities under the supervision of the Program Manager.
  • Accompanies selected youth to other facilities for special tests/exams and the emergency room, within the limitation of their education, training, and job experience.
  • Works effectively with program manager in mental health and/or medical emergency situations, within the limitation of their education, training, and job experience.
  • Assumes responsibility for maintaining a neat, safe, and clean environment.
  • Observes, records, and reports to Program manager significant behavior and condition of youth seeking assistance when needed.
  • Understands, abides, and complies with all program policies and procedures.
  • Interacts therapeutically with youth in both individual and group situations, applying appropriate positive and/or negative alliance.
  • Monitors and supervises youth behavior in individual and group situations.
  • Maintains effective communication regarding management and clinical issues to the appropriate individual in accordance with established organizational structure.
  • Maintains acceptable attendance record, reports on time for scheduled shifts and meetings.
  • Maintains professional appearance, is neat and clean.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with all safety standards.
  • Ensures medications are administered at scheduled time and in the correct dosage. Ensures that medications are kept in a locked cabinet and that the containers are clearly and correctly marked.
  • Ensure medication management is correct and documented correctly, reporting any significant information to the Program Manager.
  • Writes correct and detailed Description Assessment Plan (DAP) notes in the client’s chart at the end of every shift. (See Progress Notes Policy). Completes Incident Reports as needed. (See Incident Reporting Policy). Completes Communication Log entries and Day Treatment-Group Home Log entries every shift. (See Communication Log/Day Treatment-Group Home Log Policy). Completes additional paperwork per programmatic and specific policies and procedures, including Census Sheets. Overnight staff completes Night Shift Duties sheets.
  • Other duties assigned by Supervisor and New Day, Inc. administration.
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not supervise other staff members however this position is responsible for youth and youth activities.
 

QUALIFICATIONS: 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must pass a criminal and child protective screening background check which is completed upon hire.
 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 
A bachelor’s degree in human services field and minimum of 6 months previous experience working in a therapeutic group home preferred. Will consider others with High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent with two years’ experience working with seriously emotionally disturbed and/or chemical dependency treatment; or equivalent combination of appropriate education and experience.
 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and groups.
 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: 
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 

REASONING SKILLS: 
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions using critical thinking skills. Ability to know when to report to supervisor on critical issues or concerns.
 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 
Must maintain current certifications in Non-violent crisis intervention, CPR, and First Aid. Must have a valid Montana driver’s license with an insurable driving record. Comply with the Immigration Control and Reform Act through the filing out of an I-9 form.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides professional guidance and direction to maintain and improve the quality of the service delivery in effectivley meeting the needs of the participants in placement at New Day Group Homes. Lead Clinical Staff’s working hours on Campus are from 11:00am-7:00pm, Monday through Friday, which will allow for the proper management of tie and work schedules. It may be necessary to work occasionally evenings and weekends. Additional duties may be assigned by Administration.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Major Functions:

  1. Intensive Level of Care
    1. Maintain case management of a caseload using active treatment principles.
    2. Act as Treatment Team Leader for weekly internal staff meetings.
    3. Ensure that each youth receives 75 minutes of therapy and 75 minutes of therapeutic intervention services per week. Individual therapy must be provided at least 50 minutes out of the required 75 minutes per week and family therapy must be provided to the youth and biological, adoptive, or foster family members with whom the youth previously resided or plans to reside with upon discharge. If family therapy is not appropriate based on the particular situation of the youth, the lead clinical staff shall document specific reasons why family therapy cannot be provided.
    4. Follow Progress Notes Policy for documentation guidelines. Therapy sessions an therapeutic intervention must address the youth’s treatment goals and objectives in the treatment plan and each session must be documented in the case record by the lead clinical staff.
  2. Complete clinical assessment within 5 business days of the youth’s admission.
  3. Develop and complete Individual Case Plans/Master Treatment Plans on each participant. Master Treatment Plans must be reviewed and updated at least every 30 days. A copy of the treatment plan must be provided to the youth’s placing agency and custodial parent or guardian within 10 business days of plans development. Ensure Discharge Summaries are completed within 10 business days, ensuring a continuum of care is in place for participants and family, (See Individual Treatment Plan/Master Treatment Plan and Discharge Summary Policies.)
  4. Develop and submit in a timely manner “Continuation of Stays” for participants meeting the medical criteria for stay at the therapeutic group home level of care.
  5. Provide support and guidance to Program Managers and Youth Empowerment Specialist of the milieu. This includes overseeing routines, requirements, programmatic, medication procedures, and the inventorying of medications in accordance to the Medication Policy for ensuring overall accuracy and monitoring for correct documentation. In the absence of the Program Manager, the Lead Clinical Staff of each Unit will inventory and verify the on-hand medications upon assuming their duties each shift.
  6. Oversee therapeutic infrastructure of group home. Report directly to supervisor. Attend clinical meetings.
  7. Complete quarterly chart audits under the direction of the Quality Assurance or Clinical Director.
  8. Other duties as assigned by New Day, Inc.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Lead Clinical Staff is responsible for the supervision and overall provision of the treatment services to the youth in the therapeutic group home.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirement listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social work, counseling or psychology, management and extensive experience working with troubled youth and families and the subsequent development of the emotional problems by displaced and dysfunctional youth. Effective July 1, 2012, the LCS must be licensed clinical psychologist, licensed master level social worker (MSW), or licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC). The LCS can be an in-training mental health professional. Familiarity with word processing and computer concepts. Ability to perform managerial and training functions efficiently and within established time frames. Able to maintain high degree of confidentiality and exhibit diplomacy and tact.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the therapeutic youth group home(s), ensuring a safe and supportive environment for participants, and aligning program activities with the organization’s mission and objectives. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating with clinical teams, and providing therapeutic interventions as needed.

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

  1. Maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment within the assigned lodge.
  2. Develop and prepare all weekly and monthly reports in coordination with the Lead Clinical, including any initial assessments and interim reports as needed.
  3. Provide transportation for participants to and from medical clinics when needed for acute care.
  4. Ensure adequate facilities, equipment, supplies, and other resources are available for program operation in conjunction with the Lead Youth Care Specialist.
  5. Collaborate with the Residential Team Lead and Lead Clinical Staff to ensure the correct exchange of information between the placing agency’s internal treatment team members and New Day treatment team members. This includes ensuring that documentation from each party is included in the clinical record and that appropriate forms are filled out to meet the service needs of the youth.
  6. Facilitate the transfer of clinical records in a confidential manner and provide clinical records, or portions thereof, to appropriate external agencies confidentially.
  7. Train Youth Care Specialists, ensuring their participation in all company training and coordinating their development, including check-ins during shadow shifts, coaching, training, and skill set enhancement, with a focus on safety, appropriate behavior, role modeling, and social/recreational creativity.
  1. Conduct therapeutic interventions with residents under the supervision of lead clinical staff. Minimum of 75 minutes per youth per week.
  2. Objectively chart assigned participant’s progress in DAP format.
  3. Plan and organize weekend activities with approval from the Residential Team Lead.
  4. Facilitate weekly treatment team meetings to provide input regarding youth and their needs within the treatment milieu.
  5. Inventory and monitor participant medication counts, ensuring adherence to the medication policy by all staff.
  6. Assume on-call duties during scheduled weeks.
  7. Conduct performance reviews for all lodge-assigned Youth Care Specialists.
  8. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and New Day, Inc. administration.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the Residential Team Lead, directly supervise staff employed as Youth Care Specialists and the daily operations of the unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Familiarity with word processing and computer applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Email, and Cellphone applications. Strong managerial and training skills. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and demonstrate diplomacy and tact.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in a human service field or a minimum of 6 years of human

services experience for those without a degree. Preferred experience with seriously emotionally disturbed and chemically dependent populations.
